12, Grimmauld Place

Third step of Climbing Wolfstar .

Prompt: Order of the Phoenix

Good reading.

12, Grimmauld Place

The square was enclosed within an area of elegant Victorian buildings now a bit ' decayed, abandoned to a sad decline. Remus looked at them almost without breathing, a little 'because silence property who ruled the place seemed to reject a sound, a bit 'because it's the thrill closed his throat.
Although it seemed rather silly, given the difficult situation and the circumstances that led him there. Yet, beyond the facts, remained stuck on an irrepressible sense of wonder, of curiosity in children. Does not fundamentally change things to try to concentrate on more pressing thought - the rebirth of the Order, the resumption of guerrilla warfare, the return of the Dark - because of the fact that square Remus had wanted to see an infinity of times Over the years, and had never done. Before he was a boy who could not simply go where it seemed to him, after apparently because Sirius did not smile the idea to take him there and show him that place was a wound that never completely healed, and after that because the pain would was too violent to bear.
His eyes ran down the facades of those buildings, windows, almost all hidden by shutters closed or half-closed doors on refined and a bit 'worn. In the middle of the square there are two trees and a bunch of benches, deserted, seemed to want to discourage visitors instead of inviting.
It seemed a sad place.
But maybe it was just because he connected it to Sirius, and if once in his eyes was a figure Sirius cheerful, sunny and bustling, be today had become a dull, off, torn. A man who dragged wearily and painfully forward in the midst of his worms and his ghosts, mortally wounded, still stubbornly clinging to a life that only now had the features of Harry Potter. The only thing that mattered most.
Remus knew. In some ways it was the same for him: his life was no longer that mattered - not the most was a long time, since he was rushed for more than ten years earlier - but that of others, that later. Especially to Harry.
sighed to himself and decided to take a few steps forward, his brow furrowed seriously. All that mattered now was to restart the Order of the Phoenix, reorganize it, scrape up what remained of its old members and new aggregate to give it new life and another breath. And if there should be, there would be.
no illusions: he knew that it was not just to deal with that task by spending their days side by side with Sirius, with that Sirius was more than Sirius, but Sirius was just as well, his great friend, a stranger incomprehensible made by this year, the companion of all time, love ended in tragedy.
not interested in this, however. What mattered was the Order.
slowed his pace, reaching the benches to overcome them, and we can get without poterselo prevent.
Of course, sometimes we sat there. Maybe. With Regulus, perhaps, under the stern gaze of Walburga ready and vigilant to prevent any contact with the filthy vermin that plagued the neighborhood. He tried to focus, even smaller than that, vaguely remembered the time that he had known. The pale face, a little 'chubby childhood and beautified. Gray eyes and light, yet too large at that little face of a child. Hands nervous, tight in her lap, all contained in a small body of self-effort of composure. He remembered the beginning of the first year, like a little thing discussed in the constant attempt of an elegant self-restraint, a violence imposed which had become self-inflicted with a childhood habit of all.
few weeks had been enough to sweep away all that Gryffindor front overflow and let the real Sirius. Looking back now, he thought he had witnessed the blooming of a few flowers, one that blossoms in the evening are still green and the next morning there they were, the apotheosis of petals and colors.
How had loved him, upset that flower.
shook his head, returning to observe the line of the buildings in front of him. It was all started on that square, where he was born Sirius.
began walking until you reach the opposite sidewalk, and there he frowned and waved his eyes on house numbers. Ten, eleven, thirteen. There, in the middle.
It took another two seconds, only two, two thoughts to flow out by themselves. A black dog asleep on the cold floor of the Shack in front of his eyes still clouded with sleep and fatigue after the transformation, and then Frank's face as his trembling voice announcing the death of James and Lily.
blinked.
The Order La Fenice is at number twelve, Grimmauld Place, London.
And it was there.
An old door imposing, austere. A brass handle worked, which seemed to threaten. There was a look of rejection on the facade of refined and something cold. Remus, but he just shrugged, decided that was not necessary to knock and firmly grasped the handle, it locks. So, after having slipped the head inside and found that the hall was plunged into a silent gloom, he ventured inside.
" Sirius? "He began.
And then he began.
" SEWAGE FECCIA! MAGICAL WORLD OF SHAME! How dare you, TUUU, filthy HYBRID ... "
" Zittaaa! For Merlin, shut up! "

smoked in tea cups.
Remus tried not to look too curiously as she looked around with, indeed, an irrepressible curiosity, exactly.
It was a beautiful kitchen, or at least had to have been made. Job mobility, elegant, fine furnishings. He was sure that with a nice clean, that place would be too refined.
" Well ..." he murmured.
" I hope you now understand better why I've never presented in the family," Sirius remarked ironically, sharp.
Remus nodded quietly.
" Me'd got an idea, but the experience was enlightening," confirmed, risking a smile.
The other not returned. Remus knew that frame with a look, but that day would be enough for anyone to guess what that Sirius had a legendary temper. He would not be surprised if he took a moment to growl at empty, and judging by the expression on his face gaunt, contracted into a grimace of rage not too suppressed, was not entirely unlikely that he did indeed.
Once, during one of his angry weeks of their stay at Hogwarts, James had a sign attached to his poster, written in his own hand with an enchanted ink, bright. careful, it bites.
Remus stifled a principle of nostalgic laughter at the memory.
A Sirius did not escape.
" What's so funny?" He muttered.
The werewolf shook his head gently.
" Do not make me go to the mansion?" He asked in turn, glissando.
Sirius glanced at him suspiciously, as if considering the same thin butt of consumer jokes or not. He had to opt for the latter solution, and shrugged his shoulders, standing up with a snort.
" 's all dirty and disgusting, but if you care," he muttered grimly.
Remus nodded firmly.
" Actually, yes," confirmed serious.
gray eyes of Sirius rose straight up to him, strangely alive in that body weak and thin. Studied it seriously for a few seconds, much less hazy than he expected. Then her lips curled into a sort of smile resigned, bitter.
" you care for twenty years."
A finding in a low voice, that almost reproachfully.
Remus just shook his shoulders.
" You were born here," said logically.
Sirius seemed for a while to find it almost funny.
" Yeah," he said, with an incomprehensible laughter that immediately became gloomy. "E would be to understand at once that nothing good could come from one born here, "she said, almost spitting the words with venom. "Come."
Remus preferred not to comment on that last statement, but merely to follow him.
The cups were left there, abandoned.
was a full house, weird. Remus had never set foot in a place so Pureblood, and was surprised the amount of gadgets and objects that proclaimed the superiority of blood. Everything pointed to a bygone splendor, overwhelmed by dust and neglect, but there is some semblance of order.
" you clean?" He asked, running his finger on a shelf almost dusted.
Sirius shook his head, annoyed.
" Kreacher, the Elf of my mother. She still lives here, but must be hidden by the smell of your bottom, the little bastard, 'he said scornfully.
Lounge, hall, bathroom, the kitchen had already visited.
"There is the library, but I prefer that you not come before the Albus has looked to identify protective spells, "Sirius announced, pointing to a closed door.
" books could attack me?" Remus inquired.
" Or worse."
There was a solemn-looking tapestry in the corridor on the first floor. The ancient and noble House of Black was proudly displayed on the wall, severely. Remus stayed to watch him thoughtfully.
Next to the name of Regulus Black was a small burn barely visible, a fragment of reality canceled.
" You were here," he said, touching the scar tissue with a finger.
" Yes And here, "Sirius confirmed, taking his hand just next to her," there was Andromeda. And Uncle Alphard, remember? "He added, with a hint of a smile, pointing over her.
Remus nodded.
"They canceled for my sake, you know. For all of the money to me ... "
" I remember, "Remus confirmed.
Sirius took a deep breath.
" much damage to one man," he said.
Remus swallowed hard.
not only damage. Not only those.
" Maybe he does not mind. Having been erased, I mean, "said conciliatory.
" Yeah. The rest may not displeasing to James. "
Sirius's words were followed by a dense silence, sharp.
They stood firm in front of the tapestry, sharing the same discomfort. James.
" do not know why I told you," Sirius finally admitted softly.
" 've always had this tendency to speak faster than you think. It also said Snape, "downplayed Remus, raised by this new intervention.
Sirius clicked his tongue, raising his eyes to heaven.
" Good, that."
Remus chuckled, just forcibly.
Sirius walked on, continuing a hasty visit. He jumped a couple of doors goes unnoticed and opened the third, motioning to enter. Remus performed, following him, and as soon as we cross the threshold, we realized what was that room, the smell, or air, or something else, and stood almost without being able to look around.
that was there. That room had heard the first stirrings of Sirius, its first plant, perhaps his first laugh. He had seen his first steps, heard the first arguments, contained his anger and his rebellion until it had become too big to be imprisoned by its walls.
The missing piece to the image that Remus had him at the time when Sirius was the most important thing in his life, had it now, finally, before his eyes.
That room was never cleaned, or placed, and it shows. Only the bed had been remade fresh, perhaps because the Animagus had begun to sleep. Everything else was dirty and worn. One dark desk, a wardrobe with three doors, a chair, an armchair, all bare, impersonal. Yet the room repeating his name.
" E 'left your stuff," he asked quietly.
Sirius nodded casually, pointing to the closet.
" had locked the door."
Remus not already listening. He pushed the ajar door and look inside. Some old dress, baby books yellowed, old-fashioned toys with peeling paint. A little coat hanging on the best.
" Twain, Klaus The Vampire," she whispered, grabbing what little volume discharged and ruined. "I love this book."
you remember. James had they got the first time they had celebrated Christmas with friends, and Sirius had spent the following years to read it in his spare time, even when he became a bit 'too large.
" Yes It seems absurd that I had left here, " Sirius said thoughtfully.
" When we moved to the attic looking for," said Remus with a start, remembering the day when they went in together. He remembered vividly the image, Sirius cans defeats in the midst of the chaos of creative sharing in their attic, angry and exasperated. "But really, where the hell is Klaus finished?" He says, throwing books around.
" I tried for four years, but I have never touched on the idea that he was here. I was pretty sure of taking it, " Sirius said, looking casually browse through the book. "I thought it was some old hall of Hogwarts. The day before yesterday when I found there was almost dry. "
Remus rapidly visualized the image of Sirius, the sight of the little book, holding his breath with a strangled groan and grabbed the momentum , stringendoselo chest between convulsive sobs. Shook his hand and his sight s'offuscò slightly.
" Merlin," she whispered.
He went back to look around breath taking. The window overlooking the inner courtyards of the palaces, and that sill had to have hosted a lot 'of times Sirius's butt while he smoked on the sly.
Sirius, at the time, sat on the bed, imitating with his eyes on the panoramic room.
" Did you expect otherwise?" He asked.
Remus frowned.
" do not know. I could not really make me a picture of this place. "
" There were posters and chaos everywhere, "says the animagus.
" I know very well. I lived with you for ten years, "Remus reminded him ironically.
" Whenever Kreacher was instructed to reorder, and after two hours was all the same as before," Sirius continued, thoughtfully.
" has my understanding," Remus said Accor.
Sirius smiled sideways.
" were my house-elf."
"I hope that you consume a Kelpie, Black. "
Sirius's smile became a raucous laugh, which he joined in silence, not to cover it.
" Come, there is a beak."
seemed to change everything after that laugh. Sirius all'ippogrifo introduced him and kept company for half an hour. It was funny to see how these two wild creatures seem to have become almost symbiotic, but after all, Sirius had always been good with wild animals, as with everything that was dangerous. Just missing that Buckbeak's did purr. Sirius smiled and went on to explain what each machine on the habits dell'ippogrifo, eagerly, occasionally stroking his massive back.
" ... He tried to get rid of that idiot kid Lucius! It is a wonderful animal? "
taste Remus chuckled, shaking his head.
" guess in your eyes makes him a hero," he agreed.
" You can also remove the almost , Lupin," said the other emphatically. Then he gave one final pat to the creature, who was crouched by, he rose up to regain the door.
Remus followed him again.
" How to fly on a Hippogriff," he asked curiously.
" less comfortable than on a broom. But more stable when you get used to. "
" am very suspicious. "
" So what? "
Remus slowed down, becoming serious again.
" So I do not think that would be attached to a spout that is just too much damage for one man," said, quoting his words a little earlier.
Sirius turned to look at almost hurt, her lips tightening. He bowed his eyes and shook his head. Passing his hand over his face.
" Even the beasts are wrong."
" I think I know more than you, the wild beasts."
" But it is wrong. You're wrong too, "Sirius repeated, snorting. "You should not have loved me. Neither you nor James. "
Remus refused firmly.
"It is not you that we had not to love."
Sirius shrugged as if to let go, taking the stairs to go downstairs.
" As you wish," she whispered.
" No," Remus contradicted him, firmly. "It 's a fact. You do not ... "he insisted, following him. "Okay, you made the most sensational nonsense that you can conceive it and you will always want but ..."
" But what? What else I did instead of better? Merlin, Remus, what? "
Remus stood on the step, impaled.
he had done. The violence was almost stuck in his head the idea that he deserved to be loved. Had given him a normal life for as long as it was successful. James gave to his brother who dreamed since he was two feet high. And all the rest.
She looked serious.
" I've converted back into a human being."
Sirius for a moment seemed to gasp in surprise, then smiled coldly.
" Oh yeah? For this you have to drag the past twelve years of work by den in den miserable when you're one of the most intelligent men of England? "
Remus shook his head, to hold out.
" No. That's why Voldemort has taken my whole life, that which Peter's has sold. Peter. Not you. You're just been so fucking think that you could betray. "
" you tell lots of lies! "Snapped Sirius, with excessive heat, pointing a finger at. "You were never in the fucking place to be where you said and claimed to be with this person or that person when it was never true. .. Di Non "
" Albus I had an assignment secret!" He angrily defended himself in anger.
" And I fuck do I know?" Sirius growled, and he seemed almost a moan. "You could at least tell me that, without specific ... '
" I could not! "
" I was the shit with which you lived! "
" So ; asshole pretending to be a spy! I would not have occurred to him to think such a thing even if you ... "Remus yelled, losing his temper.
" What the fuck do you know? I told you when I went to the toilet! "Roared Sirius, spring a shove.
" Oh ho ho, Sirius, surprise! You forgot to tell me that you were not the Custodian, and talk about your bowel regularity "
" Fuck, Moony! "
" But you go easy, piece of shit! "he replied to rhymes, venting a thought that's buzzing in my head for a dozen years. "You dare say that it is my fault if ..." he continued, harpoons almost dislocated his shoulder.
" No, you idiot!" Sirius barked wriggling. "I'm not saying that ... ... Godric, no ...."
He took her face in her hands, mash the palms and uttering a guttural sound incomprehensible.
" I know," Remus murmured.
He had slipped away like water off the anger. Emptied completely emptied. It was not to blame. It was the fault of all.
broken Sirius took a breath and turned, leaving his hands along the body.
" You know, tomorrow Molly Weasley. I must at least make the kitchen less disgusting. We must prepare for the Order, that is what counts. We have to ... "he began, doing to reach the room.
"Sirius No, no," he said, and laid his hand on his shoulder again, but without violence, only by holding it. He felt her tremble in his fingers. He was thin, skin and bones. "First there must really forgive."
" I have nothing to forgive," said Sirius in a low voice, turning toward him anyway.
" I, then."
Sirius took a deep breath. He still had his hand on Remus's shoulder, and lifted his imitation of his gesture.
" I'm sorry, Remus. .. Di Non "
paused again, bowing his head forward, and Remus covered the distance between them because it is resting on his sternum.
" I know," he said. "I know you did not want, and you've done your best. Everything went wrong. "
Sirius did not answer, just gently resting her arms around his chest. Remus's surrounded himself with his own shoulders.
" I'm sorry," repeated the animagus against his chest, and even though it was a sentence of a absolute banality felt vibrating between the letters all the rest, all the pain and torment, all there in those two little words meaningless. "For Godric, I'm sorry."
" I know," Remus repeated softly, bending his head to his ear. "But we had to tell me so."
plan Sirius snorted, raising his head slightly. They sat with their cheeks supported, near, each other and feel the breath against his ear, each unaware of the eyes closed, in a hug tighter.
I miss you, Remus thought, even more simply, he thought it was so strong that not even need to say it, and close to Sirius that there was a bit 'stronger said the same thing.
became softer, natural, until their arms began to dissolve almost alone and their necks are straightened. They stood face to face for a moment, still very close, looked straight at me, rediscovered. Eyes that had watched countless times, finding almost everything irises in opposite directions.
And then a faint smile hinted Sirius, Remus and the floor shook his shoulder.
" And now we're going to reassemble this Order of the Phoenix, Pad," he said resolutely.
Sirius nodded in the same way.
" The others arrive tomorrow," he announced, with a critical look at the dusty mansion. "Let's get down, Moony."
and loose, because it was time to get busy.

More than the Order of the Phoenix itself, I its focus on its premises. I guess it is not a big problem, though. For the rest, I do not have much to say. You messed up and not likely, besides disjointed, but I turned out that way.
